CHARISMATIC Shrule seanachaí Aindrias de Staic.

Celebrated entertainer, Shrule native Aindrias de Staic brings his acclaimed show ‘The Man from Moogaga’ – a joyous mix of music, humour and storytelling – to the Linenhall Arts Centre in Castlebar on Friday, February 21, 8pm.
‘The Man from Moogaga’ is a one-man stage show about music, magic, friendship and football, revolving around the story of a young musician and his friends growing up in 1980s rural Ireland.
As the years fly by, de Staic and his rag-tag gang of local GAA teammates take to the road, becoming part of the Irish diaspora. Full of twists and turns, and a cast of strong peculiar characters, all infused with de Staic’s impish sense of humour and musical skills, this show will certainly resonate with anyone who grew up in ‘The Wesht’. It features charismatic troubadour de Staic in full seanachaí mode, and the performance sees him using his exquisite fiddle playing to embellish the narrative. The result is a riotous celebration of the rhythms of small-town life in rural Ireland.
The show won Best Radio Comedy 2018 at the Celtic Media Awards, UK, and was described by Australia’s Herald Sun as ‘a brilliant blend of classic Irish comedy and unique musical talent’.
