James L Cremins



James L Cremins of Norwood, passed away from cancer on January 28, 2021 at the age of 82, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Jim, was born in Coventry, England just prior to World War II to the late James and Annie Cremins, was raised on the family farm in Westport, Co Mayo, Jim, the eldest of eight, left his beloved Ireland at 16, moving to England to work in order to help his family. He moved to Boston in 1956, where he met and married his beloved wife of 56 years, Mary Ann (Doran) Cremins. Jim worked as a pressman for what became Universal Press for decades before his retirement. Jim was a devoted family man, community volunteer. He always had a story to tell and a twinkle in his  eye. Jim was a beloved father to James G Cremins and his wife Michelle of Easton and Nancy M Cremins and her husband Michael Carty of Mansfield and the cherished grandfather of James (Sonny), Rory, Kieran, Aoife and Nora. Jim was a loving brother of Tommy Cremins (Dedham), Peter and John (Ballinrobe Road) Maureen Foley,(Kings Hill) and Nancy St Ledger (Cork) he is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brother-in-law and his many nieces and nephew’s. Jim was preceded in death by his sisters Noreen Flynn and Joan Cremins. Jim was a member of the Norwood Knights of Columbus and the Irish culture centre of Canton. He was to laid to rest at the Highland Cemetery Norwood on Thursday, February 4.
